Last winter’s extreme cold resulted in unusually high bills for some customers with variable rate electric supply contracts.

Before the cold weather arrives this year, double check that you’re buying your power the way you want. There is a certain amount of risk associated with variable rate contracts. If you want to avoid that risk, you should sign up for a fixed rate for your electricity supply, one that will not change over the life of your contract.

As always, be sure to know the terms of your current or potential contract and whether there are any early termination penalties. Electricity suppliers are required to provide you with notice about when your current contract will expire.

Shopping is a good thing. We want you to find the deal that works best for you and the one that saves you money.

Remember, PPL Electric Utilities will deliver power from any supplier you choose and we’ll always be there to respond to any outages, billing questions or other service concerns.
