LIHEAP grants up to $2,700

See if you qualify for this free assistance

If you’re falling behind on your electric bill, you may qualify for up to $2,700 in free money from the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, LIHEAP. But you have to act fast. LIHEAP applications must be submitted by June 17.

LIHEAP is available to both homeowners and renters, and you don’t need a past-due balance to apply. Grants can help offset the cost of winter heating bills or prevent a shut-off.

Check out the income guidelines at pplelectric.com/liheap, see if you qualify, and apply today.

If you’re not eligible for LIHEAP, don’t worry. We offer payment agreements and programs, like budget billing, to all customers, regardless of your income.

To get started, sign into your online profile at pplelectric.com or set up a new profile in three easy steps. Then, click “Get Help Paying” from your Account Summary page. We’ll ask you a few questions about your household and financial information and recommend the programs that will benefit your family most.

My income changed when the person I lived with lost their job immediately after I filed my assistance form with LIHEAP. I am on SSI and my lot rent is $590 and I get $841 a month. I have a 25’x70’ manufactured home which has roof leaks and a lot of repairs. The lot rent spike makes that nearly impossible. I need to update income as I am the sole income of my house and my last application for assistance is no longer accurate

I have a part time job where I earned $8,000 last year, but the rest of my income is from social security. Does that count towards the $19,300/year for a single person dwelling?

I spoke. To Cathy supervisor in customer service. After being contacted 3/8 about my welcome kit At first they said. They. Don’t give them anymore. After speaking with her she assured me she’d send out the package with the bulbs and nightlight She checked and said she would send it herself I haven’t received to date. Must I spend a nother whole day on the phone holding? I hope not. Please expedite and let me have a status. I literally stayed on hold for hrs, I’d like to start off on the right foot with a new company! Please advise. Thank you, Susan Manning
