In a test of endurance for a good cause, PPL Electric Utilities employees raced go-carts March 15 in support of the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Three PPL Electric Utilities teams competed with teams from other area companies for three-hours in a relay that included pit stops, driver changes and cart swaps in the Red Cross Grand Prix.

PPL Electric Utilities and the employee teams raised more than $18,000. It was the second year that PPL Electric Utilities competed in the event.

“Everyone had a great time, but the important thing was how all the teams came together in support of an organization that benefits the Lehigh Valley area in many ways,” said PPL Electric Utilities’ Chip Richardson, who helped organize the three PPL teams. “Helping our communities is a big part of what we do.”
