Electrical hazards cause thousands of injuries each year.
At PPL Electric Utilities, electrical safety is the top priority not only for our employees, but also those we serve every day. Becoming safety savvy starts early and that’s why we’re offering Energy Safe Kids. In May, we’re working with the National Energy Foundation to provide dozens of electrical safety presentations in elementary schools.
The ENERGY Safe Kids program is directed primarily at fourth-graders and teaches students about electricity and how to be safe around it.
Students participating in these sessions will be bringing home a home safety checklist. If a student from your household is part of an ENERGY Safe Kids class, help them complete the checklist. Teachers can get a classroom mini-grant of up to $50, depending on the percentage of checklists they return to NEF.
