Interesting, entertaining electrical safety messages
The rain is gone, the sun is shining, and thousands of young students will learn about electrical safety this week. What could be better?
PPL Electric Utilities is sponsoring performances by the National Theatre for Children this week at nine elementary schools in our service territory. Performances of “The Safety Detectives In Hot Pursuit” will be seen by kids in schools in Bloomsburg, Williamsport, Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, Bethlehem, Lancaster and Harrisburg.
It’s important to stay safe in all we do at home, work or play. And it’s especially important to be safe around electricity.
Electricity powers our lives. Almost everything we do has some connection to it. But tragedy can result if safety rules aren’t followed.
Safe kids become safe adults. Providing electrical safety information in an engaging, memorable way will help important information stick with these precious youngsters for life. Children are seen in emergency rooms every day for electrical shock injuries. We’re trying to keep ours from becoming statistics.
Is this a free program for schools and what age is it appropriate for?
Jane: We used two different scripts to make the show age-appropriate for all students between kindergarten and fifth grades.
The program is free for schools.
Unfortunately, we were only able to present at a limited number of schools, but we are hoping to bring back the show next year.
Hello I was wondering if someone from PPL can contact me about the program, I had sent an email but never heard anything back
Courtney: We’ve sent you an email. Thanks for your interest!
