With winter just around the corner, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program can offer qualifying customers peace of mind.
LIHEAP awards grants you don’t have to repay. Last winter, our eligible customers received nearly $8.5 million in LIHEAP assistance.
The program opened Nov. 2 for applications from customers who need help with their heating bills or heating emergencies. It closes April 1, 2016.
LIHEAP is a federally funded program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, but you don’t have to be on public assistance to qualify and you don’t have to have an unpaid heating bill.
You can apply online or request an application by calling the statewide LIHEAP hotline at 1-800-451-5886. More information, including income guidelines, can be found here. LIHEAP is one of several programs we offer or promote to assist customers who meet financial guidelines.
