For one of our engineers in Harrisburg, helping to keep customers’ lights on during the day isn’t enough. Helping to keep them safe in her off-hours is important too.
Allyson, a support engineer, has volunteered for several years as a firefighter in Hummelstown, Dauphin County. It’s not a casual commitment – the position requires extensive training and can involve risky situations. But she enjoys serving the community.
“The further I got (as a firefighter), the more I liked it,” she says.
Allyson is one of many employees who volunteer as firefighters, emergency medical technicians or in related community roles. They give countless hours to help their neighbors when they need help most. In doing that, they exemplify the commitment of PPL and its employees to all the places where we live and work.
