Think!-ing about creative ways to save energy recently led to prizes for students in two schools in our service area.

It started with Think! Energy Innovation, an energy efficiency program we offer to high schools. The program consists of an in-school presentation and an Innovation Challenge, which challenges kids to explore innovative ways to make a difference in energy or water efficiency.

Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences students and teacher Greg Mazurek pose with their Think! Energy prizes.

Teams of up to four students can communicate their ideas to others through artwork, essays, videos, music, photography or other creative methods. Grand prize-winning teams receive solar backpacks – an energy-efficient prize that’s useful every day.
