This Mother’s Day will be a little warmer for women in the safe house program at the Women’s Resource Center in Scranton, thanks to donations from PPL employees.

Employees in Scranton and surrounding areas collect money year-round for the resource center, which provides services for survivors of domestic violence. The money is used to buy personal items that women at the center need.

Also, PPL retiree Andrea Walsh makes afghans that are included in the baskets of supplies, as an extra comforting touch.

This year, we delivered eight baskets of supplies to the center just in time for Mother’s Day. It’s a small gift, but one we hope makes a difference to those who receive it.
