We’re once again giving diversity-owned businesses a chance to meet our leaders and learn about opportunities to become a PPL supplier at our Diversity Meet and Greet event on Friday, Nov.17.
The free event will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the PPL Conference Center at Walbert, 1639 Church Road, Allentown, PA 18104-9342.
It’s the second year we’ll hold the event, which is set up specifically for female, minority, veteran, disabled and LGBT business owners, as well as for disadvantaged and HUBZone companies.
Attendees will have the chance to build the type of successful relationship with PPL that Dawood Engineering Inc. did. A few months after last year’s event, Dawood, based in Harrisburg, was awarded a surveying contract.
Jim Rodgers, a Dawood associate, said the meet and greet session was a valuable experience for his group. “It was very positive,” he said. “We got to know the PPL team well and got a chance to prove ourselves. It’s been a great partnership.”
The event will feature comments by our President, Greg Dudkin, and David Amico, our Supply Chain director. Attendees also will see a presentation on the goods and services we buy, and the level of service we require to meet our customer commitments.
Those who attend also will be able to meet our category managers, who buy various goods and services. The deadline to register is Oct. 27.
