Allaina Propst is chasing her dream, and PPL Electric Utilities’ energy efficiency programs and rebates are helping to make it possible.

Propst is the co-owner and one of the founding partners of Here & Now Brewing Company, a microbrewery and restaurant that started selling growlers in January 2017 and opened its restaurant in May 2017, both in a historic building on Honesdale’s Main Street. The small business employs 12 people, in addition to the founding partners.

Propst took advantage of PPL Electric Utilities’ rebate programs to install energy-efficient equipment that will save energy and money over the long term. One example is a glycol chiller used in the production of beer.

“I’d like to be as efficient as possible,” she said.

The Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance, a nonprofit organization that advocates on behalf of energy efficiency programs, recently produced a video in which Propst talks about her business and her investment in energy savings. Check it out:
