“Phantom usage” during outages won’t be billed
If you lost power during the recent nor’easter, but your daily usage information on pplelectric.com says you used electricity that day: Don’t worry, you won’t be billed for usage when your power was out.
Our daily usage page shows actual data unless it isn’t available, in which case your usage is estimated based on past usage patterns.
Most of the time, these estimates provide a general idea of how much you used. But after outages, this feature can be confusing, because the estimates don’t reflect the fact that you were without power.
Be assured that you are billed on your actual usage at the end of each month’s cycle, based on information collected from your meter at that time. The information from your meter will reflect the power you actually used.
As always, if you feel your bill is inaccurate, we encourage you to contact us at 1-800-DIAL-PPL (342-5775).
Not sure if this is the proper place to report this but during the last storm a tree came down on Clearview Road in North Whitehall about a half mile west of Rt 145. Part of the tree is still leaning against the wires. Also in this same area, there are numerous smaller trees that are leaning against the wires. Could you have someone check this. Thank you.
William: Please call us at 1-800-DIAL-PPL (342-5775) to report the problem. Unfortunately, we’re not really set up to handle customer service reports through this blog. Thanks!
