When the Valor Clinic contacted PPL’s PPLVets employee group looking for some much-needed food items for veterans, the group answered the call in a big way.

“We put the word out to employees at the General Office and Lehigh Service Center that we would be collecting peanut butter and V8 juice,” said Audrey Gleissl, senior Advanced Meter Operations coordinator and vice president of PPLVets.

That call to action resulted in the donation of 92 jars of peanut butter and 23 gallons of vegetable juice in about a month.

“I was pleasantly surprised how much food was collected in a fairly short period of time. Due to the giving nature of our employees, almost 100 homeless and struggling veterans will receive some much-needed nourishment,” said Gleissl.
