Twenty-six PPL summer interns embraced the spirit of helping others as they volunteered at the Allentown Rescue Mission on June 11.

No job was too tough for this crew. From detailing vehicles, sorting clothing and inventorying supplies to sprucing up a garden, volunteers used their muscles to support the mission.

“Everyone had a can-do attitude and was so willing to do whatever the mission staff asked them to do. I think we may have surprised the staff in how quickly we accomplished the projects they had planned for us,” said Jackie Mohr of PPL Electric Utilities’ Human Resources team, who coordinated the effort.

Michael DeLuca, intern-System Engineering, appreciated the opportunity to be involved in the community.

“I had a great time volunteering for the Allentown Rescue Mission. The staff was wonderful and the tasks were rewarding. It felt good to be able to assist those who do so much for their community and the people that live in it,” said DeLuca.
