Mother Nature decided winter would come a month early this year and the storm that hit Pennsylvania Thursday (11/15) and today (11/16) left some PPL Electric Utilities customers without power.

We’re working around the clock, as quickly and as safely as possible, to restore power to those who remain out of service.

As of noon Friday, we had about 5,500 customers out of service, mainly in the western half of our service territory, in the Harrisburg area and in the Susquehanna Valley in locations like Williamsport and Sunbury.  As outages are restored, our crews are being redirected to harder hit areas to assist with power restoration.

In some cases, road conditions and road closures are hampering travel and extending travel times for crews.

The following area ERTs are in place for the following regions. These times are when we expect the last of the affected customers in those areas to be restored. MOST customers will have power back well before that time:

  • Harrisburg: 11 p.m. Friday (11/16)
  • Susquehanna (Williamsport, Bloomsburg, Sunbury): 11 p.m. Friday (11/16) for existing outages; noon Saturday (11/17) for outages reported later.
