Powering our communities goes beyond delivering the safe and reliable electricity you depend on every day. We don’t just work in our communities; we also live and raise our families in cities and towns across our territory.
Here are just a handful of events that helped our communities throughout the year:
We started 2024 in the Lehigh Valley by reading to children at Brigadier General Anna Mae Hays Elementary School for Read Across America and Black History Month events, fostering the importance of education for our local children.
During Earth Month, our employees planted trees in Harrisburg, Bethlehem and across Lycoming County to help preserve the environment.
In June, more than 60 of our interns participated in our annual Intern Impact Day by cleaning classrooms and assembling bikes for young riders in Allentown.
To help charge an exciting future for students, we helped the Steelton-Highspire and Bethlehem Area school districts roll out their first EV buses.
But our favorite event of the year was our Annual Day of Caring in September. More than 460 of our employees assisted 20 nonprofit organizations and sites by cleaning, painting, packing food and planting trees.
We know how important it is to give back. And while we’re happy to have made a positive impact in 2024, we’re looking forward to doing even more in 2025.

Great job so proud of you.
Great news
Yes you did a great job in those aspects. But you failed my family and myself back in February 13,2024 Snow Storm. Beyond your control was the tree limb that broke off and snapped my ppl pole at the base of the pole. (Yes I acknowledge since the pole is on my land it’s my problem.)The PPL guys out fixing the power lines told me to call and say I needed Emergency Tempory hook up because the pole was broken he said wires could be draped over another pole or limb so we could get our power back on. I called, multiple times and got a woman who kept telling me there’s many people without electricity.SO HERE’S THE DEAL:1. While everyone else in my area had power in 3-4 days, it took us 2 1/2-3 weeks to get power. With that tempory hoopup it could have been a shortened time like everyone else. 2.We were displaced all this time. 3.Had to Board the dogs. 4. Some of the pipes froze. I feel you really let me down. SO: WHILE YOUR BUSY PATTING YOURSELF ON THE BACK FOR YOUR “Jobs well done planting trees”, I hope you can understand why I see some of your priorities aren’t where they should be, rewarding the guys out in that bad weather fixing the power lines is where your priorities should be. While these guys couldn’t help me (Thanks to the PPL Woman) at least they took care that thousands had electricity. P.S. I ALWAYS PAID MY BILLS ON TIME AND NEVER TOOK A PPL HANDOUT. WHAT A KICK IN THE TEETH!
