Insulation
We’re offering rebates of up to $200 for air sealing and up to $500 for attic insulation; and doing multiple projects like these will put you on the path to a potential $350 retrofit bonus. Plus, you could qualify for tax credits.

If your home is leaking air, you may be leaking money on your energy bill. Ensuring your attic is well-sealed and properly insulated is one of the most important things you can do to reduce air leaks, save on your electricity bill, and improve comfort.

Low insulation levels and air leaks make your heating and cooling systems work harder and use more energy. If the insulation is below the level of the floor joists in your attic, you probably need to add more.

Tackle air sealing and attic insulation projects now to reduce your energy costs before it gets colder. Learn more about our insulation rebates here.

Smart Thermostats
We’re offering a $100 rebate if you install a smart thermostat. Plus, you could qualify for tax credits.

Half of an average American household’s energy bill goes toward heating and cooling—more than $900 a year. Let a smart thermostat help you control your home’s temperature—you could save money and stay comfortable! Smart thermostats ensure your home is at the right temperature when you’re there and conserving energy when you’re not.

The smart thermostat is an important part of an ENERGY STAR Home Upgrade because it controls equipment that uses significant energy for heating and cooling.

We’re offering a $400 rebate if you upgrade to a super-efficient water heater. Plus, you could qualify for tax credits.

Your water heater is the second-highest energy user in your home, drawing more than your refrigerator, clothes washer, dishwasher, and dryer combined. Water heaters use 20% of a home’s energy.

A heat pump water heater with the ENERGY STAR label is up to four times more efficient and uses 70% less energy than a standard model. Upgrading can help you prepare for a clean energy future, while also saving you hundreds of dollars every year in energy costs.

Save energy and money during Energy Awareness Month

Save energy and money during Energy Awareness Month

There are opportunities all throughout your home to help you save money by using less energy. We could all use a few extra dollars these days. That’s why we developed a virtual, online experience to help you find those hidden savings.

Here are a few easy tips that you’ll discover when you start your virtual energy saving journey at SaveWithPPL.com.

Switch. Then flip the switch.

It sounds simple, but if you haven’t made the switch to LED lightbulbs, you’re leaving money on the table. LEDs may look more expensive at the cash register, but they pay off. They have the same brightness as traditional bulbs, but they use 90% less energy and can save you up to $75 a year in electricity. Plus, they last 35 times longer than traditional bulbs.

Get a thermostat with a higher IQ

When the temperature outside fluctuates, it’s easy to forget to change your inside thermostat – or to know what temperature to change it to. A smart thermostat can help.

These devices automatically adjust based on your behavior, your preferences, and the current temperature. And you can change your temperature from anywhere using a mobile app. Install a smart thermostat and you could save up to $50 a year in energy.

We even offer rebates up to $100 to get you started.

You may be leaking money.

Keep warm air from escaping your home this winter by installing weatherstripping. Even the smallest gaps can lead to big leaks. You could save up to 15% on your energy bill when you weatherstrip your leaky doors and windows. Check out tips on how to track down air leaks on our blog at pplelectric.com/airleaks.

Save now. Save later.

If the refrigerator in your kitchen — or even the one in your garage — was made before 1993, we’ve got bad news and good news.

The bad news? You’re probably using twice the energy you need. The good news? We’ll pay you $50 for that energy monster and haul it away for free so you can upgrade to an ENERGY STAR® certified refrigerator.
